Stacey grew up Rome, NY, and entered the insurance industry 13 years ago when her sister, who worked at The Hartford, recommended she apply for a job at her company. She started at F.A. Peabody in 2010 and is an agent in Commercial Lines Sales. She says that her job has taught her to never stop learning, which is evidenced by her accomplishments in furthering her insurance education and receiving the designations Associate in General Insurance, Certified Insurance Industry Professional, Certified Insurance Service Representative, and Certified Insurance Counselor.
When asked to share a favorite story about her job, Stacey said, “I appreciate being able to help someone insure their business adequately. I had a client whose business burned; we discussed the claim process and learned they would be closed down for a few months. Appearing defeated they said they would have to lay off their employees, and I confidently responded, ‘I have you covered for that! The insurance company will pay the ongoing wages so you can keep your staff on board.’ The look of relief was priceless. This customer was not only dealing with their business’s fire, but also the burden of potentially having to lay off their staff with no notice.”
