Scarborough, Maine – The F. A. Peabody Company (FAPCO) announces the acquisition of the Hagerman Insurance Agency of Scarborough, Maine. The current owner and principal agent, Judy Guilmette, acquired Hagerman when she moved to southern Maine from her hometown of Blaine (Aroostook County) over fifty years ago. Judy will be retiring and wanted the business to perpetuate to an agency equipped to take care of her customers. The Hagerman Agency writes property and casualty insurance in the greater Portland area. The office located on 162 US Route #1 in Scarborough will be closed. The F. A. Peabody Company will service the business from its branch office at 547 Main Street in Westbrook, Maine.
FAPCO opened a southern Maine location in 2017 and has been growing steadily to diversify its footprint across the state. ‘The addition of the Hagerman business will strengthen our position and commitment in Southern Maine’, exclaims Christopher Anderson, president. He states further, “Our strategy is simple; provide quality insurance advice, products and service with honesty and integrity at a fair price.”
